Covid-19 : Preventative Closure of a Third-Year Nursery School Class at the Ecole des Carmes

A third-year pupil at the Ecole des Carmes nursery school tested positive for COVID-19 following intra-family contamination.  The child has been removed from school in line with the procedure recommended by the Monegasque health authorities.

As PCR tests are not carried out on nursery school pupils, and as these pupils are not required to wear masks due to their young age, the Prince's Government has decided, as a precautionary measure, that all pupils in the class concerned must remain absent from school until Monday 14 February inclusive.

The parents of the pupils concerned have been directly informed by the school management.  They are invited to watch for the appearance of any symptoms that are suggestive of COVID-19 in their child.

School staff who have been in contact with the pupil who tested positive for COVID-19 will be given a PCR test, in accordance with the health protocol.

The Ecole des Carmes continues to welcome pupils from other classes in compliance with the health measures in force.
