Ultra Trail Côte d'Azur Mercantour 2023: around 15 minutes of disruption expected

©Direction de la Communication

On Friday 7 July, the 9th edition of the Ultra Trail Côte d'Azur Mercantour, one of the most technical and difficult long-distance cross-country running events in the world will start in the Principality. With a distance of 125km and altitude differences of up to 3,000m, the race will take place in the magnificent landscapes between the mountains and the sea, typically characteristic of the Alpes-Maritimes (finishing in Saint-Martin-Vésubie on 9 July).

The runners will start at 7pm from the Quai Albert Ier, then cross the city to join the Moyenne Corniche in the direction of the Col de Turini (made famous by the Monte Carlo Rally). Traffic for motorists, public transport and pedestrians will be affected for around 15 minutes (see the complete route map attached).

The competitors will pass through the pedestrian crossings, causing disruptions for a short period, between 7pm and around 7.15pm, on:

  • boulevard Albert Ier
  • rue Grimaldi
  • rue de la Turbie
  • boulevard Rainier III
  • Boulevard de Belgique
  • Boulevard du Jardin Exotique
  • avenue Hector Otto
  • the Moyenne Corniche M6007

Each route will reopen to traffic as soon as the last runner has passed.

Signallers and public safety officers will be on hand all along the route to guide athletes and users and facilitate the reopening.

See details of crossing points in the attached photos.
