The Wurtemberg Footbridge, an impressive piece of architectural metalwork standing 65 metres long and 2 metres wide, is now open for use.

Through improving pedestrian access within the Principality, this new structure forms an essential part of the soft mobility policy. Located towards the end of Avenue Pasteur, access to the Fontvieille district is made easier by two lifts that also serve the Promenade Honoré II and will provide access to the new college and other parts of the Îlot Pasteur complex and the Wurtemberg Car Park, which will be opening soon.

This project makes it possible to fully explore the western part of the Principality entirely on foot, from the upper entrance to the Principality all the way to Fontvieille.

From the Salines Car Park, which opened at the western entrance to the Principality last April, offering 1,800 affordable parking spaces, simply stroll through the Salines Gallery and over the Wurtemberg Footbridge to reach Fontvieille.

The soft mobility policy is gradually being rolled out to ease urban traffic congestion, boost soft mobility and provide alternatives to the use of private vehicles, allowing everyone to play their part in a way that's right for them.
