Roll-out of the Mobility Plan: New buses on the West-East routes tested
The Prince’s Government continues efforts announced in February to roll out its Mobility Plan.
After the opening of the Salines Car Park and Galerie des Salines, as well as the simultaneous launch of the X1 and X2 express shuttles, two new bus lines were launched on 22 April.
The objective is to offer more public transit ‘express’ lines throughout the Principality. A relevancy test will be carried out along the two routes taken by the X3 and X4 shuttles which run from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm from Fontvieille to the Larvotto and La Rousse districts with few intermediate stops.
A traffic assessment will be carried out to evaluate the use of each shuttle and the usefulness of proposed stops, particularly with regard to the Place d’Armes drop-off point, with a view to making the line direct to Monaco-Ville.
The X3 line will run every 10 minutes from Fontvieille to Larvotto and include the following stops:
- Going: Albert II, Port de Fontvieille, Princesse Antoinette (Port Hercule), Portier, Larvotto.
- Returning: Larvotto, Portier, Place Sainte Dévote, Place d’Armes, Fontvieille/Centre Commercial de Fontvieille and Albert II.
The X4 line will run from Fontvieille to the La Rousse district every 15 minutes and include the following stops:
- Going: Albert II, Port de Fontvieille, Princesse Antoinette (Port Hercule), Portier, Saint Roman.
- Returning: Saint Roman, Portier, Place d’Armes, Fontvieille (Centre Commercial de Fontvieille) and Albert II.
