Reception at Monaco’s Embassy in Spain to celebrate anniversary of H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s accession
On 11 July 2016, Monaco’s Embassy in Spain held a reception to celebrate the anniversary of H.S.H. Prince Albert II’s accession. The reception was held in the gardens of the residence in La Moraleja (Alcobendas), and the atmosphere was extremely cordial.
H.E. Mr Jean-Luc Van Klaveren, Monaco’s Ambassador to Spain, and his wife welcomed 250 guests. Numerous personalities and ambassadors attended, including H.E. Mr Yves Saint-Geours, the French Ambassador, Ms Maria Salvadora Ortiz Ortiz, Director of Foreign Relations of the Ibero-American Conference, Mr Ignacio Garcia De Vinuesa, Mayor of Alcobendas, representatives of the Spanish Royal Guard, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Spanish National Assembly, and members of the Principality of Asturias royal family.
On the day after the reception, a working meeting for Monaco’s consuls in Spain was held in the Embassy Chancery. The consuls were given an update on the negotiations between Monaco and the European Union, as well as on the actions being taken by the Principality to help refugees and major construction projects under way or soon to be launched.
