Egyptian Minister of Antiquities pays official visit to Monaco
The Egyptian Minister of Antiquities, H.E. Mr Khaled El-Anany, accompanied by a delegation,* paid an official visit to the Principality for the opening of the Grimaldi Forum exhibition “The Golden Treasures of the Pharaohs – 2,500 Years of the Goldsmith’s Art in Ancient Egypt” on Friday 6 July in the presence of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince.
Following the official opening, H.E. Mr El-Anany was granted an audience with H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince.
In honour of the Egyptian Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation organised an official lunch with Minister of the Interior Patrice Cellario.
Before leaving Cairo, H.E. Mr El-Anany told the local press that the exhibition in Monaco was one of the best ways to promote Egypt as a unique cultural and tourist destination, and would help to attract not just Monegasques but also visitors from Italy and the French Riviera.
It was H.E. Mr El-Anany, the Grimaldi Forum’s key point of contact for the exhibition, who facilitated the exceptional loan of 150 pieces, the majority of which have never previously left Egypt.
