Diplomacy: accreditation of new ambassadors from Lithuania – Armenia – Colombia – Ethiopia
On Tuesday 20 October, at a lunch held at the Hotel Hermitage, Laurent Anselmi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Mr Nerijus Aleksiejunas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania; H.E. Ms Hasmik Tolmajyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia; H.E. Ms Viviane Aleyda Morales Hoyos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia; and H.E. Mr Henok Teferra Shawl, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, who presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.
H.E. Mr Nerijus Aleksiejunas began his diplomatic career in the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania in 2000, joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the following year. After a stint at the European Commission and European Union, he was appointed Deputy Director of the European Union Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2014, and then Foreign Affairs Advisor to the President in 2015.
H.E. Ms Hasmik Tolmajyan joined the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995, where she occupied a variety of posts before being appointed Advisor to the Minister in 2008. In 2014, she was promoted to Minister Plenipotentiary at the Armenian Embassy to the Swiss Confederation.
Having served as a senior civil servant in the Colombian Ministry of Economic Development from 1986 to 1990, H.E. Ms Viviane Aleyda Morales Hoyos was elected to the Colombian House of Representatives in 1991, and re-elected in 1994. A Senator of the Republic of Colombia for eight years, she was also the first woman to serve as the nation’s General Public Prosecutor.
After seven years at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr Henok Teferra Shawl was appointed Director, in 2010, and then Vice-President of Communications and International Affairs, in 2013, at Ethiopian Airlines. He was then entrusted with implementing the five-year growth strategy for ASKY Airlines before rejoining Ethiopian Airlines as Vice-President for Strategic Planning and Alliances.
