Diplomacy – Accreditations Greece - Kuwait - Jamaica - Korea

On Tuesday 2 October 2018, at a lunch held at the Hôtel Hermitage, Mr. Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Ms. Aglaia Balta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic;  H.E. Mr.  Sami Mohammad Al-Sulaiman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait; H.E. Ms. Sheila Sealy Monteith, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Jamaica and H.E. Mr. Jong-moon Choi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea, who presented their Letters of Credence to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.

H.E. Ms. Aglaia Balta joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in 1984 and entered the Diplomatic Office of the Presidency of the Republic in 1986.  During her career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she was Head of Albanian Affairs in the Directorate for South-East European Countries, European Correspondent in the Directorate of Common Foreign and Security Policy, Deputy Director in the diplomatic office and Head of Protocol.  In 2012, she was appointed Ambassador of Greece to Chile.

After two years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Sami Mohammad Al-Sulaiman joined the Embassy of Kuwait in Athens in 1987, where he rose through the ranks.  In 2000, he joined the Embassy in Turkey as Head of Mission, and, in 2002, was appointed Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  He then served successively as Ambassador to Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, India and Nepal.

During her 31-year career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Ms. Sheila Sealy Monteith was appointed Director of the Department of International Organisations, Acting Permanent Secretary, Under-Secretary of the Division of Multilateral Affairs at Jamaica's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Permanent Representative to the International Seabed Authority.

H.E. Mr. Jong-moon Choi joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983 and was appointed to the post of Director of the South-West Asia and Oceania Division in 2000.  He served as Director General of Planning and Management for South Asian and Pacific Affairs before being appointed Ambassador of Korea to Sri Lanka.  In 2005, he became Special Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.  He has been Deputy Minister for Multilateral Affairs since 2016.
