Diplomacy – Accreditation of Ambassadors from Seychelles – Gabon – Kazakhstan – Portugal
On Wednesday 27 June 2018, at a lunch held at the Hotel Hermitage, Gilles Tonelli, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Mr Louis Sylvestre Radegonde, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr Favien Enongoue, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Gabonese Republic, H.E. Mr Jean Galiev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and H.E. Dr Jorge Ryder Torres-Pereira, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Portugal, who presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.
Following a diplomatic career as High Commissioner of the Seychelles to the United Kingdom and to Malaysia, Ambassador to Belgium and Roving Ambassador within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr Louis Sylvestre Radegonde became CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board in 2005. He was appointed General Manager of Eden Island Development in the Seychelles the following year. In 2007, he joined DHL Clinical Trials Logistics where he occupied various posts before being named the company’s Project Lead in London.
H.E. Mr Favien Enongoue entered the Gabonese Government in 2006 as chargé de mission for the President of the Republic’s High Representative for International Relations. In 2009, he became Presidential Advisor in the Department of Legal Affairs, Administrative Issues and Relations with Constitutional Bodies. In October 2011, he was promoted to Special Advisor, Head of the Department of Culture, Arts, Tourism and Sport.
H.E. Mr Jean Galiev joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999 and was posted to Kazakhstan’s Embassy in France in 2001, where he became Second Secretary. He returned to the Ministry in 2006 as Head of the Western Europe Section in the Europe and America Department. In 2007, he was appointed Minister Counsellor at the Embassy in Belgium and then in France, where he was promoted to Ambassador in 2017.
H.E. Dr Jorge Ryder Torres-Pereira began his diplomatic career in 1987 as Deputy Secretary-General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was posted to Portugal’s Embassy in London in 1990, then to Tel Aviv in 1995, as Counsellor. He returned to the Ministry in 1997, where he served as Director of Common Foreign and Security Policy. Since 2010, he has represented his country as Ambassador in Bangkok, Beijing and Paris.
