Meeting of the Trade Observatory
The Trade Observatory held a plenary meeting on Tuesday 28 November, chaired by H.E. Mr Pierre DARTOUT, Minister of State, and attended by Mr Marco PICCININI, Minister of Finance and Economy.
Addressing the event, H.E. the Minister of State emphasised that the Trade Observatory is an invaluable platform for dialogue between the government and the various economic stakeholders in the sector.
The Observatory members* present discussed the encouraging tourism forecasts for 2024, and the challenges and opportunities facing the Principality’s retail and restaurant sectors. The talks were a chance to outline concrete proposals to support the local economy, and also explored potential ways to maximise the positive impacts of major events hosted in Monaco.
*representatives from the National Council, Monaco City Hall, the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, du Strategic Council for Attractiveness, government departments concerned, UCAM (Monaco Union of Traders and Artisans), AIHM (Monaco Hotel Industry Association), the Chambre Immobilière Monégasque (Chamber of Real Estate), and the main shopping centres and districts.
