6th Forum on Sandwich Courses and 11th Meeting on Careers in Banking and Finance – Very Positive Results

The 6th Forum on Sandwich Courses and the 11th Meeting on Careers in Banking and Finance took place at the Rainier III Auditorium yesterday.  Following these meetings, in the late afternoon, the 4th Apprenticeship Trophies were awarded.

This event, which is increasingly successful, attracted more than 500 visitors throughout the day.  Eight-five entities were represented – 27 schools, plus the Academic Counselling and Education Resource Centre, 16 banks and 42 businesses.

Ms. Sophie Vincent, Deputy Director of Employment, was in charge of the event.  She stated that "The aim of the Forum is to promote sandwich courses, which are a useful recruitment tool.  We must now maintain the number of visitors while continuing to forge links with the Employment Office – in particular with the Youth Employment Unit – and businesses.  This year is marked by a two-fold record – the number of new apprenticeship contracts signed – 147, i.e. 30% more than last year – and the number of entities that were present at this Forum."

Mr. Stéphane Valeri, Minister of Health and Social Affairs, visited the Forum.  He spoke at length with heads of businesses and schools, and with some of the young people there.

At the end of this day event, three winners (and their apprenticeship supervisors) were awarded an Apprenticeship Trophy in recognition of their exemplary performance, both academically and professionally.

- Best Apprentice Awards:

  • Mr. Kevin Mottais (KPMG GLD and Associates)
  • Ms. Anne-Dorothée Scariot (BNP PARIBAS)

- Jury's Special Award:                            Ms. Sabrina Gottenkieny (CRUDELI MONACO)

These fourth Apprenticeship Trophies were awarded in the presence of Government Minister Mr. Stéphane Valeri, Mr. Thierry Orsini, Director General of the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Mr. Marc Burini, Vice-President of the National Council, Mr. André Garino, President of the Economic and Social Council, numerous professionals from businesses and banks, and sponsors who had joined the youth sponsorship scheme implemented by the Employment Office in 2014.

A report is available on Monaco Info.
