The 2nd Meeting of Historical Sites of the Grimaldis of Monaco is a Great Success
On 22 and 23 June, the 2nd Meeting of Historical Sites of the Grimaldis of Monaco was held in the Place du Palais. This year's guests were the Pays de Matignon, the Duchy of Valentinois, the town of Roquebrune Cap Martin and the municipality of Dolceacqua, Italy, which were represented by more than 800 people.
In the late morning of Saturday 22 June, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince officially declared this 2nd Meeting open, in a speech. In particular, He stated that,
"In the end, what unites these various places, and what unites us all today, is friendship:
- The friendship that I sense on my regular visits to the regions, and which, through me, is expressed in the Principality by all those who are the lifeblood of our community, and the population;
- and also the friendship that I wish, in return, to extend to you, on behalf of the Principality, by welcoming you here, thus giving our residents and visitors the opportunity to see all that is best in your territories."
These day events, organised by Monaco Inter Expo and overseen by Albert Croesi, Managing Director, also gave many folk groups the opportunity to perform in the Place du Palais.
The highlight of Saturday's event was the now traditional Sound and Light show on the facade of the Prince's Palace, which enabled the public to learn about the links between the Grimaldi family and the invited territories.
