On Tuesday 3 December, the Department of Cultural Affairs welcomed the new artists in residence at the Quai Art Studios – International Artists’ Residency.

They include Laëtitia Ky, an artist who advocates the emancipation of women in Côte d’Ivoire through her hair sculptures and paintings.

Artist and painter Abhijit Pathak explores cultural heritage and historical narratives through large-scale abstract creations.

Four talented young postgraduate students from Monaco Art School Pavillon Bosio are sharing a studio.

Maria Magdalena David and Ilona Rougemond have joined Ahmad Reshad and Gabriel-Noé Rosticher, who took up residency a few months ago.

In addition to pursuing their personal projects, all four are working on exhibition designs, notably with the Monaco Pavilion ahead of World Expo 2025 in Osaka.

Collaborative projects are encouraged throughout the residency and create hugely inspiring synergies for the artists involved and the Principality’s institutions.

The Quai Art Studios are allocated by the Department of Cultural Affairs following a call for applications. They host local and international artists for between six months and one year as they work on an art project.
