Finalists for Coup de Cœur des Lycéens 2024

The jury for the Prince Pierre Foundation’s Coup de Cœur des Lycéens 2024, comprising Year 11 (Seconde) pupils from Lycée Albert I, Lycée François d’Assise Nicolas Barré and Lycée Rainier III has met to agree the shortlist of novels in contention for the prize.

Awarded every year since 2007, the prize recognises a young author for the publication of their first novel. From the seven novels preselected at the beginning of the school year, the following were selected:

  • Olivier Ciechelski, Feux dans la plaine, Éditions du Rouergue
  • Aurélien Cressely, Par-delà l’oubli, Gallimard
  • Adèle Fugère, J’ai huit ans et je m’appelle Jean Rochefort, Buchet-Chastel
  • Cécile Tlili, Un simple diner, Calmann-Lévy
  • Raphaël Zamochnikoff, La maison vénéneuse, Belfond

On 3 June, the selected authors will have the opportunity to come and make the case for their book before the jury at an event in the Principality. The pupils will then have the summer holidays to complete their reading and consider their final choice before a final vote which will be held when they return to school. The winner will be announced at the Prince Pierre Foundation Award Ceremony on 8 October 2024 in Monaco.

Created in 2007 in collaboration with the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, the High-School Pupils’ Favourite Choice Award, given for a first novel, offers a €6,000 prize donated by the Princess Grace Foundation. This truly educational project aims to increase pupils’ awareness of contemporary literature and the world of publishing.
