A new season for 'The Travelling Collection'

Since 2002, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco has conserved 4,000 stage costumes and 400 set designs from the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, donated by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. In addition to this Heritage Collection, the museum also has a 'Study Collection’, comprising around sixty items from the Travelling Collection, which can now be seen, touched, and worn.

Launched in 2018 as part of a project by artist Celia Pym, the Travelling Collection offers a series of travelling workshops in schools, associations, and medical establishments in and around the Principality.

The museum's outreach team use these fabrics, embroideries, headdresses, and accessories to run creative workshops, which through touch, writing, drawing and physical expression, raise public awareness of the issues surrounding conserving and restoring works of art.

The new season has just kicked off at Les Révoires school, where the Travelling Collection was up and running for a full week, before moving on to La Condamine school.

Thanks to support from CFM Indosuez Wealth Management since 2022, this project will continue throughout the year.
