COVID-19: Thirty-Four New Positive Cases and 20 Recoveries on Friday 18 February

Thirty-four new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Friday 18 February.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 9,162 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

Sadly, a 91-year-old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV virus has died. Since the start of the COVID-19 health crisis, 51 residents have died after contracting the virus.
The Prince's Government extends its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person and assures them of its full support at this time of sorrow.

This evening, 19 people are being treated at Princess Grace Hospital: 18 people, 13 of whom are residents, are provided in-patient care. Another patient, who is non-resident, is in intensive care.

There are 20 further recoveries to be noted. The total number of people who have recovered is 8,923. This Friday evening, 94 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.

With regard to the vaccination strategy, as of 13 February 2022, almost 77,300 vaccine injections had been administered. 71.4% of the resident population eligible for the vaccine has received the full vaccination schedule. This rate is greater than or equal to 62% for all age groups from 18 years upwards. It is close to 82% among 55-64 year olds and 95% among those aged 75 and over.
