COVID-19: Forty-Eight New Positive Cases and 56 Recoveries on Friday 18 March

Forty-eight new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Friday 18 March.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 10,063 people affected by the coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

This evening, seven people, three of whom are residents, are receiving in-patient care at Princess Grace Hospital. There are no patients in intensive care.

There are 56 further recoveries to be noted. The total number of people who have recovered is 9,702.

This Friday evening, 228 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the coronavirus.

Regarding the vaccine strategy, as of 13 March 2022, close to 78,708 vaccine injections have been administered. 71.6% of the resident population eligible for the vaccine have benefited from a complete vaccination regime. The rate is 62% or over for all age groups 18 years and older. It is approaching 82% in those aged 55-64 years and 95% in the 75-plus age bracket.
