COVID-19: Fifty-One New Positive Cases and 35 Recoveries on Thursday 17 March

Fifty-one new positive cases of COVID -19 were identified on  Thursday 17 March.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 10,015 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

Sadly, an 85-year-old resident who tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus has died.  Since the start of the COVID-19 health crisis, 54 residents have died after contracting the virus.

The Prince's Government extends its most sincere condolences to the family and friends of this person and assures them of its full support at this time of sorrow.

This evening, seven people, four of whom are residents, are provided in-patient care at Princess Grace Hospital.  There are no patients in intensive care.

There are 35 further recoveries to be noted.  The total number of people who have recovered is 9,646.

This Thursday evening, 237 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to people with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.
