COVID-19: 48 New Positive Cases and 24 Recoveries on Friday 10 December

Forty-eight new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Friday 10 December.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 4,054 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

This evening, 13 people are being treated at Princess Grace Hospital: ten people, four of whom are residents, are provided in-patient care. Three other patients, who are non-resident, are in intensive care.

There are 24 further recoveries to be noted. The total number of people who have recovered is 3,810.

This Friday evening, 190 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to patients with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.

With regard to the vaccination strategy, as of 5 December 2021, more than 60,400 vaccine injections have been administered. 65.4% of the resident population eligible for the vaccine (aged over 12 years) has benefited from a full vaccination schedule. This rate is in excess of 50% for all age groups over 18 years. It amounts to 76.8% among 55-64 year olds and is close to 92% among those aged 75 and over.
