COVID-19: 42 new positive cases and 50 recovered cases as of Monday 11 April

Forty-two new positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Monday 11 April.

This takes the total number of people infected with the coronavirus in the Principality since the start of the health crisis to 11,194.

One resident, aged 92, has sadly died after testing positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Since the start of the COVID-19 health crisis, a total of 56 residents have died after contracting the virus.

The Prince’s Government sends its most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the person concerned, and assures them of its full support at this painful time.

The Prince’s Government reiterates the importance of getting vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccination is currently the most effective way to protect yourself and others. COVID-19 vaccines are free of charge to all Monegasques and residents.

As of this evening, 37 people are provided in-patient care at Princess Grace Hospital, 24 of whom are residents. There are no patients in intensive care.

A further 50 people have recovered from the virus. The total number of recovered cases stands at 10.946.

As of this Monday evening, there are 153 people being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-Up Centre, which provides medical support to patients with mild symptoms who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with practices adopted by the WHO and neighbouring countries, this daily update only includes residents with COVID-19.

The Prince’s Government is also releasing figures relating to testing. These figures include data up to Sunday 10 April inclusive.

· Number of tests carried out on residents and non-residents between 04/04 and 10/04 inclusive: 3,403 PCR and antigen tests.
· Positive test rate for residents and non-residents: 16.13%.
· Incidence rate, i.e. number of positive tests per 100,000 people over the past seven days: 808 (814 last week).
