COVID-19: 15 New Positive Cases and 9 Recoveries on Friday 13 August

Fifteen new positive cases of COVID-19 were identified on Friday 13th August.

This therefore brings the overall health figures for the Principality to 3,055 people affected by the Coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis.

This evening, 24 people are being treated at Princess Grace Hospital:  24 patients, 11 of whom are residents, are hospitalised.

The Prince's Government announces, with great sadness, the death of a 89-year-old resident. The Government extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of this person.

There are 9 further recoveries to be noted. The total number of people who have recovered is 2,890.

This Friday evening, 69 people are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre, which provides medical support to patients with mild symptoms, who are invited to self-isolate at home.

In line with the practices adopted by the World Health Organization and neighbouring countries in this regard, these daily health assessment figures report only on resident persons affected by the Coronavirus.

As concerns the vaccination strategy implemented in the Principality, the figures as of yesterday evening, Thursday 12th August inclusive, are the following:

  •   Number of people who have had the first vaccination:  24,913, that is 64,96% of the global population of the Principality.
  •   Number of people who have received the second dose of the vaccine:  20,170 , that is, 80,96% of the population eligible for the vaccine, i.e. aged over 12 years.
