CORONAVIRUS - One New Positive Case and Five More Recoveries in Monaco this Friday

The Principality's health authorities have been informed that one new positive case of COVID-19 was identified on Friday 17 April.

This therefore brings the number of people affected by the Coronavirus to 94.  It has been announced that a further five people, compared to yesterday, have recovered.

This brings the total number of patients who have now recovered to 20.

Seven people are receiving treatment in hospital, three of whom are in intensive care.

It should be noted that the people tested and hospitalised are not all resident in the Principality.

In accordance with the principle adopted by the health authorities in the Principality of Monaco, only patients with severe COVID-19 symptoms are being hospitalised.

People with mild symptoms are asked to self-isolate at home while being medically monitored.  To date, 85 patients are being monitored by the Home Patient Follow-up Centre.

The aim of this approach is to avoid overburdening hospitals and to care for these patients in the city in a way that is efficient and comfortable for them.

The Prince's Government thanks and wishes to express its full support for every Monegasque and every resident in these exceptional times, which require compliance with the precautionary health measures and travel restrictions.
