Your Monaco: the new app making everyday life easier in Monaco
On Monday 5 December, Minister of State Pierre Dartout officially launched the mobile app Your Monaco, which has been developed as part of the Extended Monaco programme. The launch was also attended by Céline Caron-Dagioni, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development; Isabelle Berro-Amadei, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation; Patrice Cellario, Minister of the Interior; and Frédéric Genta, Country Chief Officer for Attractiveness and the Digital Transition.
Aimed primarily at residents, commuters and cross-border workers, this new solution, available free for smartphones, brings together all of the practical information about living in Monaco, offering access to live updates on public transport, traffic, local services, environmental data and incident alerts. It also enables users to find out about places of interest, events and activities in the country.
The app, which replaces the city information website Yourmonaco.mc, is the result of a collaborative effort involving all government departments, the Digital Transition Office, several representatives from public services and a number of private partners. Taking advantage of a bespoke solution developed in partnership with Orange Business Services, the Prince’s Government plans to use this tool to boost the country’s attractiveness and improve its interactive relationship with local people.
“With the solution, the State is offering a new service to residents and employees. Digital technology is playing a full role in facilitating access to information and to the city’s resources. This is a new generation of public services, responding to the current needs of the population,” emphasised H.E. Pierre Dartout.
More than just a catalogue of city services, Your Monaco, available in French, English and Italian, meets the specific expectations of users, who can personalise their dashboard, quickly assembling a selection of content that is of interest to them, giving them rapid access to their favourite sections. Users can also configure their push notifications and alerts to suit their needs.
This digital service is a new step forward in the development of a Monegasque smart city: the acceleration of urban development in a rapidly changing world combined with environmental concerns has made it vital to rethink the urban experience within the country.
“Your Monaco makes the potential and opportunities on offer in Monaco easily accessible. It is a tool for promoting attractiveness and encouraging development. Moreover, the interdepartmental, collaborative approach that serves as the basis of the project is an example to follow,” explained Frédéric Genta.
