The children of the Principality create a collective artwork for the day of 8 March 2023
To mark the #8MarsMonaco event, the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights is this year focusing on the promotion of sexual equality through sport. In collaboration with the Department of Education, Youth and Sport, a hundred year three pupils from Monaco primary schools have contributed to a special collective piece by the artist Mr One Teas on the theme: “Women and sport seen through the prism of the new generation”.
“Education about equality needs to start from an early age,” explains Céline Cottalorda, Women’s Rights Officer. She adds “getting children involved on the theme of sport, where many inequalities and stereotypes persist, is a way of sending them messages and raising their awareness”.
H.S.H. Prince Albert II and H.S.H. Princess Charlene have also contributed to the artwork, and the end result will be unveiled on 8 March.
The operation #8MarsMonaco will also be visible on social media and in the city, particularly around the Stade Louis-II.
