Signature of the “Health - Police - Justice” Agreement
On Friday, 26 January 2024, the Secretary of Justice, the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Health and Social Affairs signed the “Health - Police - Justice” Agreement.
Drafted by the Department of Justice in close collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, the agreement aims to improve how the judicial authorities and police services respond to the many situations that can arise in a health facility, including the provision of medical care for victims of violence or sexual assault, cases of child abuse, the admission of prisoners and individuals in police custody, cases of drug possession, theft or damage at health care facilities, etc.
This institutional partnership, for which operational data sheets are forthcoming, will strengthen coordination between services, the standardisation of practices and, as a result, the effectiveness of operations.
