Free bus trial in Monaco: have your say!
As part of the free bus trial that the Prince’s Government is running until 27 November 2022 with support from the Monegasque Bus Company (CAM), a survey will be carried out to assess the impact of making buses free on the frequency of services.
The idea is to determine if this incentive to get people to change their travel habits is effective and achieves the Government’s aim of expanding the use of public transport to ease traffic, cut greenhouse gas emissions and improve quality of life for Monegasque nationals, residents, commuters and visitors to the Principality.
Were passengers already using the bus before it became free, and if not, what mode of transport were they using? What are their expectations? These are some of the questions proposed by ALYCE, the research consultancy that is the French leader in transport surveys, which has been commissioned by the Department of Forward Studies, Urban Planning and Mobility to conduct this survey in two ways:
- On the ground: from 6 am to 8 pm on 8, 22 and 24 November, ALYCE researchers will be at one bus stop on each of the six routes in order to reach a good representative sample of users of the network. They will carry out the survey in person with passengers, who will be asked to answer a quick questionnaire.
- Online: a more comprehensive questionnaire, available in French and English, is already available via the following link: https://enquete-web.alyce.fr/index.php/983953 or by scanning the QR code.
We would like to thank users in advance for their feedback via this tool that enables us to monitor the trial.
