The traditional Autumn Session Formal Sitting of the Courts was held at the Palais de Justice on Tuesday 1 October, in the presence of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, together with Mr Samuel Vuelta Simon, the Secretary of State for Justice and Didier Guillaume, Minister of State – both of whom took part for the first time – as well as Monseigneur Dominique-Marie David, Archbishop of Monaco and several public figures. The sitting was preceded by a celebration of the Mass of the Holy Spirit at Monaco Cathedral.
The formal sitting marks the beginning of the 2024/2025 judicial year.

Mr Stéphane Thibault, the Public Prosecutor, gave his address and announced that priority would be given to implementing the action plan to remove Monaco from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.
Stéphane Braconnier, President of the Supreme Court, delivered a speech on the subject of: “the judge, the law and the State”.
