A visit from a delegation of evaluators from the Council of Europe's Group of States Against Corruption (GRECO)
From 20 to 24 November 2023, a delegation of evaluators from the Council of Europe's Group of States against Corruption visited the Principality of Monaco for its 5th evaluation round on the prevention of corruption and the promotion of integrity within central governments and law enforcement agencies.
As part of this visit, the evaluators were able to meet with representatives of the Principality's authorities, civil society and the media, giving the assessors an opportunity to outline the various preventive and anti-corruption measures in place in Monaco and those currently being developed.
The visit also served as an opportunity for the Principality to reaffirm its commitment to continuing efforts to develop regulations for the prevention of corruption and the promotion of integrity.
GRECO is expected to deliver its report on Monaco in June 2024.
The GRECO delegation:
Senior Executives:
- Mr Michel Claise, Financial Examining Magistrate, Court of First Instance (Belgium).
Law enforcement agencies:
- Ms Silvia Thaller, Public Prosecutor, Central Prosecution Service for Economic Crime and Corruption (Austria)
- Mrs Cristina Lesnic, Head of the General Department for International Relations and European Integration, Ministry of the Interior (Moldova).
GRECO's secretariat:
- Mr Stéphane Leyenberg.
