The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation brings together Monaco’s ambassadors for the annual Diplomatic Conference

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation hosted the traditional conference of the heads of the Principality’s diplomatic corps at Hôtel Hermitage on 23-24 April 2025. The event was attended by 16 ambassadors.

This year’s conference was chaired by Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, acting Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, who opened the meeting by recalling that: “the Principality’s initiatives around the world are based on values [...] upheld by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince: peace, foremost, which guarantees the safety and well-being of people; respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, which are firmly defended universal principles, and finally, international solidarity, which is essential in addressing global environmental, political and economic challenges”.

Several current issues were discussed over the course of two days, including:

• The economic situation in the Principality, presented by Mr Pierre-André Chiappori, Minister of Finance and Economy;
• Monaco’s environmental commitments, presented in detail by Ms Céline Caron-Dagioni, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development;
• The presence of the Principality at Expo 2025 in Osaka Kansai, with the participation of H.E. Ms Mireille Martini, Commissioner General of the Monaco Pavilion (by videoconference), and H.E. Mr Didier Gamerdinger, Monaco’s Ambassador to Japan.

The conference concluded with a presentation of the 2022-2024 review of Monaco’s work in international cooperation and the priority objectives of the new Plan.

The ambassadors were invited to visit the Grimaldi Forum for a presentation of the site, an overview of the Forum’s activities timed with its 25th anniversary and a visit of the new extension.
