To mark the 60th birthday of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, a multisensory show will be presented at Monaco Cathedral. The theme will be Safeguarding Creation.

Broken down into five tableaux depicting, in turn, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and “the Heavens”, Elements has been conceived as a 30-minute sensory performance immersing the audience in a series of environments which have been recreated and will be projected onto reliefs inside the Cathedral.

With the Grand Organ, which will lead the musical accompaniment, as the centrepiece, all of the musical ensembles in the Principality will be represented: the Cathedral’s own Little Singers and two organists, the Choruses of the Monte-Carlo Opera and singers from the Opera’s International Professional Chorus Artist Training Programme, the Monaco Brass ensemble from the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Children’s Choir from the Rainier III Music Academy, the Palace Guards Orchestra, the Monoïkos quartet and, finally, a group of ten solo singers who will be in attendance especially for the occasion.

In total, some 150 professional singers and musicians who enjoy world renown and have a longstanding attachment and dedication to the Principality will be involved in setting the images projected onto the pillars, vaults and walls of the Cathedral to music.

Elements, inspired by an ancient tradition of mixing biblical symbolism with that of numbers, will offer the public an opportunity to add a more spiritual element to the emotional and sensory experience.

Tickets will be available from Monaco City Hall on presentation of a Monegasque identity card

on Thursday 1 and Wednesday 7 March from 8.30 am to 4 pm.

Places are limited.
