The 23rd information and discussion meeting between the Prince’s Government and Monegasque international solidarity organisations (ISO) was held at the Novotel on Friday 18 March, with Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, in attendance.

The event, organised by the Department of International Cooperation, was last held in 2019. This year, it brought together some 30 NGOs, foundations, service clubs and groups of associations in Monaco which are working in the field of international solidarity.

In her opening address, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation was keen to thank the ISO for their unwavering commitment to supporting the beneficiaries of their projects throughout the pandemic. She also welcomed the partnership between the Prince’s Government and Monegasque international solidarity organisations, which helps to unite efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for the benefit of the most vulnerable groups in society.

Isabelle Berro-Amadeï also thanked the organisations for their strong response to the situation in Ukraine, and noted that the United Nations advocated coordinated action to help the Ukrainian people.

SICCFIN, which was invited to the event by the Department of International Cooperation, presented the rules and obligations that Monegasque international solidarity organisations are expected to follow to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing, in accordance with the Guide to Associations produced by the Prince’s Government.

During the event, the Department of International Cooperation set out its strategic plan for 2022–2024 and introduced calls for projects aimed at Monegasque international solidarity organisations, as well as the capacity building programme that is made available to them each year.

The ISO presented their activities and the international solidarity platform, an interface for sharing information and best practices that is used by more than 50 organisations.
