To celebrate International Francophonie Day, the Tunisian Ambassador to Spain, H.E. Fatma Omrani-Chargui, organised a lunch at her residence for all Francophone ambassadors.

The group of Francophone ambassadors and, more broadly, all representatives from countries that are members of the International Organisation of La Francophonie were invited to the event. The Principality of Monaco was represented by H.E. Catherine Fautrier Rousseau, Monaco’s Ambassador to Spain.

At the lunch, the Tunisian Ambassador gave an update on the recent Heads of State and Government Conference, held in Djerba on 19 and 20 November last year. The next Francophonie summit will be held in France in 2024. The French-speaking community in Spain currently numbers more than 200,000 people, including 150,000 French nationals.
