Cultural Event Coordination Meeting

The Minister of the Interior gathered together the Principality’s cultural organisations on Thursday 14 October for a meeting to coordinate cultural events during the 2022, 2023 and 2024 seasons.

The high number and wide variety of events in the Principality mean that there is a need for coordination between those responsible for programming performances.

First organised by the Ministry of the Interior in 2015, these coordination meetings provide an opportunity to compare each organisation’s programme schedules on a regular basis and resolve any date conflicts that may arise throughout the year.

This biannual meeting is critical because the occupancy of spaces for assembly, dismantling, rehearsals and performances can cause headaches, as can the overlapping mobilisation of the various cultural institutions. Without genuine coordination, many problems would often appear insurmountable because it would be too late in the schedule to make any changes to the dates of performances.

The following participate in these meetings: the Monte-Carlo Opera, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, the Printemps des Arts Festival, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, the Prince Pierre Foundation, the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco, the Société des Bains de Mer, the Grimaldi Forum and the Department of Cultural Affairs.

This year’s meeting provided an opportunity to welcome for the first time Mr Bruno Mantovani, Artistic Director of the Printemps des Arts Festival, Mr Björn Dahlström, Director of the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, and the great singer Cécilia Bartoli, who will take up post as the next Director of the Monte-Carlo Opera from 1 January 2023.
