Universal Children's Day: A Stand by the DENJS in the Place d'Armes

Every year, the Principality of Monaco, under the high patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, is involved in celebrating the anniversary of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 20 November 1989.

On Tuesday 21 November, members of the public will be able to find out about children's rights at a stand in the Condamine Market (Place d' Armes), by the Department of Education, Youth and Sport (DENJS).

This stand will enable partner charities to raise public awareness of the many activities that are undertaken in this regard.  It will also be an opportunity for fundraising, in particular through sales of:

- bracelets mentioning children's rights

- the stamp issued in 2014 by the Stamp Issuing Office to celebrate this Day

- the song "Vivants!""("Alive") written especially by the staff of the Prince Albert II Leisure Centre and set to music by students of the "Léo Ferré" Jazz Conservatory of the Prince Rainier III Academy of Music.

Primary and secondary schools in the Principality, as well as the Prince Albert II Leisure Centre, will also take part in this fundraising event.  Pupils from all age groups will make Christmas-themed items to sell on the stand – the youngest children will make creative items, while pupils of Monaco's Vocational and Catering School (Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco) will provide Christmas biscuits and Monegasque fougasse breads.

As a reminder, it is always possible to make a donation, via the DENJS and schools in the Principality, for the benefit of humanitarian partner associations.

Note that this day will be celebrated this year on Friday 24 November, with a special concert by Kids United, who have been invited to the Principality especially for the occasion.

Exclusive:  For the first time, the DENJS will take part in the Christmas market from 6 to 19 December!

In its chalet, you will find all the products that are on sale in aid of Universal Children's Day.
