The Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and the Government of the Republic of Mauritius, relating to an exchange programme in the hotel and restaurant sector, was renewed on 16 July 2019.

The Memorandum was signed by Mr. Patrice Cellario, Minister of Interior, in the presence of Mr. Michel Gramaglia, Honorary Consul of Mauritius in Monaco, Ms. Isabelle Bonnal, Director of Education, Youth and Sport and Mr. Hubert Blanc, representing Jean-Marc Deoriti, Principal of Monaco's Vocational and Catering School (Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco) (LTHM).  This quality partnership between the LTHM and the Sir Gaëtan Duval Hotel School in Mauritius provides that, each year, two Mauritian students will receive training in the Principality and two students in the first year of the BTS course at the LTHM will complete the compulsory four-month period of work experience in Mauritius to validate their course.

This Protocol also provides that lecturers from the LTHM may train Mauritian teachers, as necessary.

This bilateral agreement, which is educational and formative in nature and allows for a valuable transfer of knowledge and skills between the two countries, has been in existence since 2004.

As a reminder, the Sir Gaëtan Duval Hotel School has been under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Princess Stephanie since 2013.
