On Friday 13 June, pupils from the Ecole de la Condamine paid a visit to the A Quietüdine retirement home to spend some quality time gardening with the residents. This meetup is part of the partnership between the Terrae Association, the Department of Education, Youth, and Sport, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and Monaco Telecom.

Approximately sixty pupils from the École de la Condamine participate in regular gardening activities with residents throughout the year. The École du Parc is also running a similar project with the Rainier III Centre (CRIII), where around 50 pupils from the Grande Section (the final year of preschool) take part in these intergenerational meetups.

Children and seniors gather around the vegetable garden beds at CRIII and A Quietüdine to engage in mutual learning. Together, they learn about aromatic plants, seeds, beneficial insects, seasonal cycles, and planting techniques. Led by the Terrae Association, these green-fingered activities engage the senses, boost memory, and encourage teamwork.

These workshops receive financial assistance from the Sancta Devota Foundation, which supports this educational, social, and intergenerational project.

Other meetups are in the pipeline over the next few weeks, continuing in the same spirit of nature, sharing, and uniting generations.
