Double centenary celebration and double good deed for the Guides and Scouts of Monaco!
T.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Stephanie of Monaco visited La Turbie on Saturday 25 November to take an active part in the reforesting activity initiated by the Guides and Scouts Association of Monaco, under their President Marie-Hélène Gamba.
The Guides and Scouts of Monaco, this year celebrating their centenary, wished to pay homage to Prince Rainier III, as part of the commemorations of the centenary of his birth, by organising an activity to help conserve the forests as well as to raise funds for Telethon 2023. One hundred young cedar, Aleppo pine and flowering ash trees were planted by volunteers, in partnership with the Department of Urban Amenities and the French National Forests Office.
This activity clearly falls within the area of commitment to the environment, initiated by Prince Rainier III who signed a Cooperation Agreement with the National Forests Office in 1979. This active partnership was then extended, redefined and strengthened in 2007 by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco through His Foundation and His Government.
