COP22: Marie-Pierre Gramaglia at the WHO Ministerial Summit

The Marrakech Conference on climate change is currently taking place in Morocco (7/18 November 2016). This is the 22^nd conference of the parties (COP22) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. 196 States are participating.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II is attending COP22, accompanied by His delegation. Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, gave a speech yesterday at the ministerial summit on "Health, Environment and Climate Change " organised by the WHO. She expressed the wish that COP22 could lay the foundations for fruitful collaboration between the sectors of health and environment, and assured Margaret Chan, Director-General of the WHO, of the Principality of Monaco's unwavering support.

As a reminder, COP22 is a continuation of the world summits organised by the United Nations Organization following the adoption of the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, which covered the period of 2008/2012. It aims are to define the modalities for the application of the climate agreement signed in Paris at the COP21 and the schedule of negotiations.
