Whether travelling by bus or car, enjoy easier access to the Rocher this summer
To make it easier to access the Monaco-Ville district in the evenings, the Prince’s Government is opening up La Visitation car park to the public and is introducing a shuttle service in partnership with the Monegasque Bus Company (CAM).
This summer, if you’re planning to discover or rediscover some excellent culinary gems and a wide variety of shops in pleasant surroundings, from authentic lanes and alleyways to outstanding views of the Principality, there are two options:
- The “Rocher Shuttle”, a temporary evening service operating fully electric buses bearing the number 8 from 18 July until September, enabling residents and tourists alike to reach the Rocher.
The shuttle will run every 15 minutes between 8 pm and 10.45 pm, with a route that takes in Monaco-Ville, Place d’Armes and three stops on Port Hercule (Princesse Stéphanie, Stade Nautique and Princesse Antoinette). Then, from Place Sainte Dévote, it will head up Rue Grimaldi, stopping at Princesse Florestine and Place d’Armes before returning to Monaco-Ville.
- The opening of La Visitation car park to residents of the Principality and neighbouring communes, who will be able to park their vehicles there in the evening and at weekends. Twenty spaces will be available.
For technical reasons, the parking spaces will still be marked as “reserved”. Visitors should contact the car park attendant to find out how many spaces are available.
