Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï delivers a speech during the High-Level Segment of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council
Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, took the floor during the High-Level Segment of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council through a pre-recorded speech broadcast on 25 February 2025.
During her speech, the Minister reaffirmed the Principality's unwavering commitment to upholding human rights and international law and supporting the United Nations' purposes and principles.
Ms Berro-Amadeï also commended the invaluable work of the investigative mechanisms established by the Human Rights Council and in many countries, emphasising that their efforts in documenting human rights violations will ultimately help to ensure accountability and combat impunity.
The Minister also addressed the major international challenges that require coordinated action at a global level, including climate change, environmental degradation and the rapid development of artificial intelligence. She offered assurance that the Principality would maintain its political and financial support for the work of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to assist it in tackling these crises and challenges.
The Human Rights Council is the main intergovernmental body within the United Nations responsible for the promotion and protection of human rights.
This 58th session is being held in Geneva between 24 February and 4 April 2025.
