As part of the Extended Monaco programme, the Prince’s Government is moving forward with its digital transformation, which is designed to make life easier for Monegasque nationals and residents, and for companies in the Principality. Digital technology is a strategic priority of the country’s new policy on attractiveness.

By moving the procedure for purchasing an extract from the Trade and Industry Registry online, the Business Development Agency, in partnership with the Digital Services Department, is seeking to adapt to the new practices of local businesses and their customers or partners, and make it easier for them to carry out official procedures (opening a bank account, signing a commercial lease, purchasing technical equipment and so on). The agency issues more than 20,000 extracts every year.

The aim is to offer users a simplified and fully digital process, including:
- Consulting or purchasing an extract from the online Trade and Industry Registry, which is certified as equivalent to the paper version and can be reused;
- Paying by bank card;
- Instantly downloading an extract from the Trade and Industry Registry;
- Accessing their purchase history.

The proposed functionality is in line with the recommendations issued as part of the assessment of Monaco’s measures to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing (MONEYVAL). It demonstrates the Principality of Monaco’s commitment to maintaining the highest international standards.

This new online service is the latest addition to the range of services made available by the Prince’s Government to support Monegasque businesses in their digital transformation: a sovereign cloud, 10GB fibre, the Extended Monaco for Businesses platform, co-funding for digital projects and training workshops led by the Digital Transition Office’s Digital Economy Unit. Tangible support to help ensure a successful transformation and a competitive digital ecosystem.

Moving the Trade and Industry Registry online reflects our determination to improve service quality for our users and to put in place the conditions that will simplify and optimise procedures for them. This will enable them to avoid travelling and wasting time queuing. The number of visits made to obtain an extract from the Trade and Industry Registry is estimated at more than 50 a day. It will also free up time for the teams at the Business Development Agency, who will be able to focus on supporting users. Finally, this move brings the country in line with European standards on transparency and compliance,” emphasises Stéphan Bruno, Director of the Business Development Agency.

Digital technology now plays a key role in the Prince’s Government’s work with businesses. In addition to ensuring a smoother user experience and saving time when completing formalities, it makes administrative management of a company more straightforward, and the content is updated in real time while having the same probative value as a paper document,” explains Julien Dejanovic, Director of Digital Services.
