The RAMOGE Agreement Takes Part in the Rolex Giraglia Regatta
For the first time, a crew from the RAMOGE Agreement took part in the Rolex Giraglia regatta, setting off from Saint Tropez on Wednesday 12 June. The sailors arrived in Monaco on Friday 14 June, having completed this human adventure, with its focus on cohesion, with some wonderful memories. Like the Rolex Giraglia, the RAMOGE Agreement is also based on friendly relations between France, Monaco and Italy. RAMOGE therefore took part in this legendary regatta with the aim of spreading a message of enhanced cooperation for the preservation of the Mediterranean Sea. The Agreement also wished to promote sailing as a clean, environmentally friendly means of transport.
The crew of the RAMOGE ship, in line with to the commitment of the Agreement and its aims of preserving the marine environment, was comprised of sailors from the Italian Ministry of the Environment, the Genoa Coast Guard, the Department of Maritime Affairs of Monaco, the Maritime Prefecture of the Mediterranean, the Secretariat of the Agreement and sailors from the Sanremo Yacht Club. The team, united for this sporting challenge and human experience, thus illustrates the bonds of friendship that have been forged through the work carried out under the framework of this cooperation, which was initiated more than forty years ago.
