Accreditation of H.E. Mr. Luigi Pezzuto, Apostolic Nuncio
On Monday 9 May 2016, H.E. Mr. Serge Telle, Minister of State, received His Most Rev. Ex. Luigi Pezzuto, Apostolic Nuncio, who presented his Letters of Credence to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.
An official lunch presided over by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince was given in his honour at the Residence of the Ministry of State. Also present at this lunch were His Grace Msgr. Bernard Barsi and Msgr. Joseph Puthenpurayil Antony, Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature.
Born in Squinsano (Lecce) in 1946, His Most Rev. Ex. Luigi Pezzuto is a graduate in Theology. He entered the diplomatic service of the Vatican in 1978 and became Pontifical Representative in Ghana, Paraguay, Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Senegal, Rwanda and Portugal. In October 1995, he was appointed Chargé d'Affaires at the Apostolic Nunciature of the Republic of the Congo and of Gabon, where he was promoted to Apostolic Nuncio in 1996. He then occupied this post in Tanzania, and later in El Salvador and Belize. His Most Rev. Ex. Luigi Pezzuto is currently accredited in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Monaco, in residence in Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
