The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco has unveiled its programme of artists' residencies, made possible in 2019 by the Department of Cultural Affairs who have provided an art studio on the Quai Antoine Ier.

These programmes, which have been developed in collaboration with several partners, reflect the museum's drive to strengthen links in the region by inviting artists to take part in classes in the Principality and work with the museum's collections and its different audiences as part of the Nouveau Musée Numérique.

Artist Léna Durr gave an initial presentation of the work she carried out as part of her digital creation residency, focusing on the collection of African art assembled by Georges Jessula from the 1950s onwards, which was donated to the NMNM in 2006 and has been conserved ever since. Over the coming months, this project will culminate in an illustrated audio story, which will be published online.

The public can discover this work on Saturday and Sunday at 3pm and 3.30pm, as part of the European Heritage Days (booking recommended by email: public@nmnm.mc ).

The event also provided an opportunity to showcase the digital creation workshops for schools, a mediation and creation programme offered to pupils and teachers in the Principality in collaboration with Extended Monaco.
