Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation award ceremony
The winners of the 2022 Prince Pierre Foundation prizes were announced at the award ceremony held at Monte-Carlo’s Opera Garnier this evening. The host for the ceremony was Arnaud Merlin, journalist for France Musique.
The winners were:
For literature:
- The Literary Prize: Vénus Khoury-Ghata, for her entire body of work;
- The Discovery Grant: Thomas Louis, for his novel Les Chiens de faïence [The China Dogs], Éditions de la Martinière;
- The High School Students’ Favourite Choice: Marie Vingtras, for her novel Blizzard, Éditions de l’Olivier.
For music:
- The Young Music Fans’ Favourite Choice: York Höller, for his Viola Concerto (2016–2017);
- The Musical Springboard: Kyiv Symphony Orchestra.
For contemporary art:
- The International Contemporary Art Prize, which was in the spotlight this year: Christine Sun Kim, for her work The Star-Spangled Banner (2020);
- The Research Grant: DAAR – Decolonizing Architecture Art Research (Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti).
The Principality Prize, awarded jointly by Philosophical Encounters of Monaco and the Prince Pierre of Monaco Foundation, was presented to Philippe Descola, for his entire body of philosophical work.
