The 2022-2023 Season at the Théâtre Princesse Grace (TPG) will include thirty shows and plays. The programme aims to be more curious, open-minded, and accessible than ever!

Faithful to its artistic policy, the stage of the TPG will play host to famous actors and artists, among them several members of the prestigious Comédie-Française (including Dominique Blanc in La douleur, written by Marguerite Duras and directed by Patrice Chéreau). Three shows will be performed outside the TPG, at the Grimaldi Forum, while a screening will be organised in partnership with the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco as part of the “Theatre and Cinema” scheme.

In addition to these events, some of which are long-established, the TPG will invite spectators to discover several completely new offerings, paving the way for new shared experiences. Over the course of the season, there will of course be theatrical creations, as well as fertile interactions with other artistic disciplines such as literature, music, poetry (sometimes in English), comic strips, and digital art.

As befits the theatre’s role as a forum for life and exchange, commitment to worthy causes will also be an important feature of the new season, particularly at the special evening to be held on 1 December in aid of the charity Fight Aids Monaco, on World AIDS Day, when the audience will discover The Normal Heart by American writer and activist Larry Kramer. The season will also be about commitment to creation - with the hosting of young artists in residence - and reflection, as the TPG becomes the “House of Philosophy”, hosting every meeting of the association Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco. In addition, a new cycle of talks and lectures will provide opportunities for special literary moments, from 6.30 pm, with a programme that will change throughout the season.

To ensure that these events may be accessed by the widest possible audience, tickets for a selection of performances will be available at a new “introductory” price of €28. Performances will now begin at 8 pm, and refreshments will be available in the foyer, allowing those employed in the Principality and the local area to enjoy a trip to the theatre after work.
