To mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Minister of State held a working meeting with the presidents of organisations involved with the Women’s Rights Committee.

Pierre Dartout was keen to reiterate the importance that the Prince’s Government attaches to protecting women’s rights and especially to efforts to prevent violence against women. The Government is finalising a bill that will create a compensation fund for women and children who have experienced sexual abuse and domestic violence. It will be submitted to the National Council shortly.

According to Monaco Statistics, legal proceedings have been initiated in 20 cases of violence against women committed in 2020.
