Celebrating Monaco's commitment to women's rights on 8 March 2024
International Women's Day 2024, entitled 'POWHER', focused on the collective commitment of all those actively supporting women's rights issues.
The day, organised by the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women's Rights, was launched by HSH Prince Albert II accompanied by HSH Princess Stéphanie. To mark their commitment, Their Highnesses placed their wishes for women's rights on a wish tree displayed in the centre of the Espace Léo Ferré.
They were accompanied by many others representing Monegasque institutions in the Principality, along with members and partners of the Committee.
There were various activities on offer throughout the day, all highlighting women's rights issues through four themes: education, health, work, and sport.
The closing conference was chaired by Louise Cordeau, President of the Council on the Status of Women, who spoke of the progress made and the continuing challenges to equality in Quebec.
The day was rounded off by two concerts and a unique sound and light show.
