Inauguration of the Salines car park
On Monday, 15 April, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco officially unveiled the Salines car park in the presence of H.E. Mr Pierre Dartout, Minister of State, Thomas Brezzo, President of the National Council, Céline Caron-Dagioni, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, along with other officials from the Principality.
The unveiling of the plaque was followed by a tour of the 15-storey structure, which has 1,790 parking spaces for light vehicles, including Monaco On and reduced-mobility spaces, 100 spaces for motorbikes, two bicycle stations, a car wash, and a coach parking area.
This new car park at the entrance to the city is an essential part of the 'Mobility Plan', announced by the Prince's Government on 9 February. Designed to limit urban traffic in the Principality and promote soft mobility, the car park will be equipped with two express lines operated by the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco, which will serve the main districts from the Les Salines car park, 63 Monabike docks installed at levels -1 and -15 of the car park and in the Galerie des Salines, which allows visitors to walk from the Exotic Garden to Avenue Pasteur in just a few minutes.
