The first Energy Transition press events were held today at the offices of the Mission for Energy Transition (MTE), the result of a desire jointly expressed by H.E. the Minister of State and Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, to showcase different contributors to the Principality’s energy transition on a quarterly basis.

Covering good everyday habits, zero-waste initiatives, restaurants holding the “Restaurants Engagés Anti-Gaspi” certification demonstrating their commitment to combatting food waste, sustainable construction, the use of alternatives to plastic in shops and the energy transition in art, the event brought together seven contributors from a variety of sectors. Each had the opportunity to talk about the action they had taken and their strong commitment to the energy and environmental transition.

Announcing that the number of signatories to the National Pact had recently surpassed 1,000, MTE Director Annabelle Jaeger-Seydoux reminded the media representatives attending the event of the energy transition’s key principles and objectives: “Regardless of the sector we work in or our everyday habits, the challenges facing the environment are prompting us to consider new ways of living and consuming, where common sense is often the best guide. Each of us, at our own level, has our own role to play in this energy transition.”

Further reporting will follow on Monaco Info and our social media pages from tomorrow. Several dedicated reports on this issue will also be featured on Monaco Info throughout the week.
